Lindsey Warford

Biography

Harpist and violist, Lindsey Warford, began her studies at an early age in Kentucky. She continued her music education in Florida where she graduated from Douglas Anderson School of the Arts and was a member of the Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestra. Her skills progressed as she participated in community and state-wide competitions, music camps, and by performing in group ensembles such as the Florida Harp Extravaganza. She holds a bachelors degree in harp performance from the University of North Florida where she performed with the university’s chamber orchestra, wind ensemble, harp ensemble and string quartet. She continued her private studies at Florida State University were she received a Master's of Arts Administration.

Lindsey has been a highly sought out artist in the southeast region since 1999, traveling from Miami, FL to Hilton Head, SC. Now relocated to the northeast, Lindsey performs in the New York City metropolitan area. She has entertained a wide range of audiences with over 500 performances as a solo harpist and with various ensembles including community orchestras, choirs, churches, and school assemblies. She has worked in therapeutic settings with the Jacksonville, Florida Baptist Hospital's Body and Soul Art of Healing project and performed at corporate receptions for organizations such as PGA TOUR, First Coast Child Abuse Prevention, The Humane Society, and the St. Simons Mozart Society.

Lindsey has studied harp under the direction of Kayo Ishumaru of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, Dr. Roslyn Rensch-Erbes of Indiana State University, and Mary Roman of the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra and the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra. Her previous viola instructors include Ellen Olsen and Marguerite Richardson, both of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra.

Lindsey performs on Salvi Apollo, 90-pound, 47-stringed, ebony, acoustic harp. She is available as a soloist, chamber, orchestral, or recording musician, as well as for private events, harp lessons, harp lecture/demonstrations and school assemblies.
